A Cool Old Truck

Ken Kendall's

1935 1-1/2 Ton Maple Leaf

8 December 2001

From Ken:

I've got a ton of work ahead of me! This 19 35 Maple Leaf made it's way to the states and into my work shop this past fall.

I haven't acquired any information on the life of this particular truck as of yet. Most of the structural wood is there, and the sheet metal is in good condition.

It looks like the prior owner attempted a restoration: it's green under the hood and flaking through the primer in a few places. I think green's the original color, it's got a 582 paint code.

The cab interior is in rough shape, which will have to be redone entirely. It also seems that all of the hardware is still there, most just needs a little elbow grease to make it look good.

One feature I've noticed is the grill guard. I'm not sure that I've seen this feature before, but I like it a lot.

Anyway I'm excited in becoming a stovebolt owner, and look forward to years of use and enjoyment!

Thanks for the superb web site!
Kenneth Kendall
