From Jon:

Here she is ... my 1964 GMC Pickup (Alaskan) 4 speed V-6 This is the truck (the model - not the exact truck) that my next door neighbor drove when I was a kid in Massachusetts. I have wanted one forever. A few months ago a handyman working next door starting showing up in different old trucks. I talked to him about them but made it clear that I was in no financial position to buy one. He kept coming. I don't know if I got a good deal. I know I paid a lot less than he wanted.

My baby has the original V-6 with about 5000 miles on the rebuild. She is straight and rust-free. Her electrics all work and she even has crazy cold A/C. (Montgomery Ward - I assume aftermarket). She has all new belts and hoses and a holley carb.

When he put the truck in the paper, he asked $6500. Eventually, I got it for $2000. Haven't spent money on anything other than upgrades. She runs like a dream. As a beginner restorer I am going to post my gameplan in a discussion forum to get some feedback. See if people have better ideas about the order of things or if there are things I am forgetting or should forget.

She's a great truck and I can't wait to make her as pretty as she deserves. I am planning on the truck being my daily driver so there will be no frame off resto for a number of years. When the engine goes maybe.
