A Cool Old Truck

Bob Gaylord's

1946 Chevy 1/2-Ton Pickup

10 September 04

From Bob:

Here's a couple of pics of my new-to-me 1946 Chevy 1/2-ton pickup. I've been semi-looking for a truck to restore / rod. My goal is a truck I can use as an everyday vehicle, except in the snow / salt of our northeast winters. I came across this truck at a local swap meet, fell in love with it and bought it on the spot.

I love the art deco lines of these trucks. The truck was just brought up from Texas a couple of weeks before I bought it and is only missing a couple of minor items. The sheet metal is in great shape, but as with most trucks, has the usual dents and dings that will be straightened out. I have a '65 vintage 327" 350hp SBC that will be going into it along with a B-W Super T-10 4-speed tranny and a F**d 9" with 3:55 gears.

I'll post some more pics as work progresses (hopefully) this winter.
