From Cody :

This is my 1966 Chevy Shortbed small window. I'm 17 and I had a little Chevy S-10 that I pretty much did all the bolts on to. But that is pretty much all you can do to them -- 18's, 2, 3 drop, tint, stereo.

So my Dad's buddy was selling this '66. He wanted $1000 but my Dad offered him $800 and he took it. So, needless to say we were stuck with another truck for the driveway.

This is gonna be my project truck. I had to wait for my tax return to come in to pick her up. It runs and it's registered and it does drive! What made me interested in the '66 is I've been around old cars all my life. My Dad has a '66 Corvette drag car, a '71 tow truck, a '74 Chevy 4 x 4 with a big block, a 1964 Ford Econoline shortened -- plus lots of projects.

We were able to pick the truck up in March and we have actually done some work. It was an adventure picking it up. First thing, I had the wrong key. Then it was out of gas. The battery was dead. Then it blew a fuse. So nothing was working. We finally got her home though.

I don't know the history behind this truck but I'm trying to find out.

We have already bought some parts for it like a cpp 3,5 drop, mag wheels off eBay, and a heater core cover and new glovebox -- thanks to Pick 'n Pull. We have put a tune up on it. We sandblasted the mag wheels and put on four new tires.

It has a straight 6 and 3 on the tree with probably a million miles on it. It needs a lot of body work, too. It's all original.

My plans are to rat rod it and get it sprayed flatblack. Down the road, I have a LS 7 big block crate motor and 4 speed trans for it. I have plenty to keep me busy until then.

We also fixed the electrical and the heater core, glovebox, and gas tank sending unit.

           Plenty more to do.

           Thank you so much.

Cody
