From Debbie Jo :

We picked up this truck in October 2007. My husband worked with a guy that had this truck. His Dad bought it brand new in 1957 and drove it from Eden, Texas to Lubbock to work daily. The son started driving it, too. It was parked in 1992.

The Mom sold the house it was parked at so the son had to move it in two weeks. So, we are now the lucky owners of it.

Our girls call it "Momma's Mater" and we plan on leaving this one completely stock. It is missing the seat, gas tank and needs windows replaced. Someone decided to smash out all of them but that is ok. The bed is rotted out but other than that it is in perfect condition.

My husband decided he wanted to see if he could get it running that day. Sure enough, before the day was over, he was sitting on a bucket, taking my daughter for a ride down the county road.

It has a straight 6 with a one barrel in it. We're not use to that. We always had four, at least.

I am really looking forward to getting it legal to run and drive the girls to school in it. I always wanted to have a cool old truck to take the girls to school in and now I have two!

I will keep ya'll posted on the progress.

Thanks and have a great day!! 1

The Dobson's have a nice line up of trucks: 1970 Chevy C-10 Longbed ; a 1959 Chevy Suburban; a 1957 GMC Pickup truck. A good variety of projects!   ~~ Editor
