Cliff Smith's1958 Chevy C-10 |
October 2009
George Capito told us in that he had let this C-10 go. Do not be forlorn, because he was also sending in a Gallery submission for another 1958 Chevy he had gotten about six months ago! Hopefully, we'll hear from Cliff so we can get an update on HIS time with the C10!
George has a nice collection of 'Bolts ... plus a few that he has parted with. In 2011, he added a nice red 1956 Chevy 1/2-Ton. He's had his 1970 Chevy C-10 Stepside for a while (which we've seen at the Stovebolt Reunion in Kansas City). Previously, he had a 1958 Chevy C-10, a 1958 Chevy Fleetisde and a 1955 Chevy 1/2-Ton (we still have a nice shots / stories in the Gallery). ~~ Editor [an error occurred while processing this directive]

From George :
This is my latest Stovebolt, a 1958 Chevrolet C-10 with a 350 V-8, 5-speed manual o-drive. I found it here in the Swap meet. A fellow Stovebolter had it and much to my surprise, it was only a few miles away. It was crying out to me, "George, George I need you."
The engine was blown so I started with a new Goodwrench 350. I removed the 3-speed and put in a 5-speed from an S-10.
I've gone through everything mechanical and electrical. It drives great. I am looking forward to spring and the cruise-ins and shows.

This is a nice addition to his collection. George already has a 1970 Chevy C-10 Stepside in the Gallery. We look forward to seeing one of these at this year's Third Stovebolt Reunion at the Kansas City All-Truck Nationals. ~~ Editor
