From Rob : This is a "second page" to Rob's Gallery page for his 1956 Cameo AND 1956 Panel. ~ Editor Last week my wife Angie and I came across a deal we could not turn down. We heard about this guy selling six cars: three Mercedes, two mid 60s Pontiacs (GTO and Grand Prix) and a mid 50s Chevy. Before we knew it, the Pontiacs were gone. But they weren't the ones that grabbed out attention. The Chevy is the one we wanted to see. We drove to Woodburn to check it out. Well you know me ..... once we saw it. Now you know I am NOT a car guy. It has always been trucks for me. This one changed my mind!!!!!! This old Chevy had been sitting for four years but I thought it was a project I could handle. We knew it was something we would both love to tackle. So we did it. We got it for a song! It came home Saturday. It took me less than a half hour to get it running! It is a 1956 Chevy 210 Beauville 9 passenger Wagon! One of 17,988 made. ( I love to research these things.) The car is a original V8 car that had a three on the tree. It now sports a 283 bored .60 over to 292, with a Muncie 4 speed and a Posi rear end. (Not sure of the ratio yet.) It even has Appliance Wheels in the Cragar SS Style (wheels I originally wanted on my Cameo but couldn't due to it being 6 Lug). For the most part, it is in good shape and solid. But you know how these things are. It does need work. The Chevy came with a set of headers and a bunch of stuff I haven't even seen yet. In all, it is a pretty cool ride. As rare as the 5-6-7 Chevy cars and trucks have become, I never ever expected to find one much less own one. But here it is! I have already been offered double my money, sight unseen for it. Not For Sale! My plans are to turn this into a cruiser. Something fun to drive to a cruise-in or the store. No show car. I am done with that. I do think it will look good pulling the Trailorboat!!!!
