1955 Second Series Chevy 1/2-Ton
06 February 2008 Update From Jorge: After the first time I signed up on Stovebolt and gave you the pictures of the truck, it was blue. I took the truck completely a part, soda blasted the frame and painted it black. I welded new motor mounts and installed a rebuilt #350 \ 330 hp small block with SS headers and billet electronic ignition distributor, new aluminum radiator with electric cooling fan. I removed the fuel tank and sealed the opening. I installed a new aluminum tank at the rear of the bed frame. I sanded down, sealed and painted the cab and the rest of the body panel in PPG Atomic Orange color. [ rear view ] I also installed a new wiring harness, and a new Flaming River polished SS tilt column. I used a pair of Honda bucket seats and had them recovered in black to match the door panels and the headliner. For the final touch, I got a 1955 original Florida license plate and had it approved for use.
17 January 2006 From Jorge: I bought my 1955 Second Series Chevy pickup [ photo ] about two years ago in Coco Beach, Florida. I have done a bit of work to it but it still needs some more to be done. I installed a Mustang II front set up and an aluminum radiator and recovery tank. The engine is a small block 283 bore 40 over with 4 speed transmission. Here' another photo, different angle. I use the truck on weekends to go to local restaurants that old vehicles get together. I bought my 1955 Second Series Chevy pickup about two years ago in Coco Beach, Florida.
