From John:

This is my '72 Chevy my Dad bought for me December 27, 2004. It was a '72 Longbed Fleetside for about two years after it was purchased. Then I decided to make it like no other.

I made it a shortbed by cutting 18" off the bedsides. I cut 11" off the front and 7" off the rear. It measures almost the same as an original shortbed. I also bought a '69 shortbed Stepside and decided to use the frame from it 'cause it had a brand new airbag suspension. I paid $1500 for the truck and used the frame with the airbags. The frame has a 4-link in the rear with a 12-bolt differential.

I spent well over a few months just swapping / cutting / modifying the truck. Last year (August 1, 2005) I placed 1st at National Night out in Kingsville, Texas for best hot rod. The truck was still a longbed when I placed first.

I've invested about $10,000 into this truck so far. I just bought some 20" rims for the new project. Hopefully it will be finished soon.

Also checkout cardomain.com for my '72. The truck is gonna have shaved door handle's, emblems, side trim, gas tank filler, side marker lights, post pocket holes, and the wiper cowl.

           More to come!!
