Prizes

From the Judge's cab

Thanks to our prize donors

We had 49 submissions for this year's contest and man alive! The judging was as hard as ever! "Elemental Reversion" was the hottest category this year, yielding three of of our prize winners. Our Grand Prize this year goes to an old friend of Stovebolt.com -- Phil Seidenberger in Amarillo for his version of one of my favorite genres -- "A Tree Grows Through It" -- Big Congrats, Phil! I think a round of TexMex and Dos Equis may be in order!

And the prizes -- I just am floored by how generous our sponsors are -- we have the best line up of prizes ever for this contest. You guys make this contest what it is and the word is out -- Stovebolters mean business!

About the biggest change for this year was that we broke out the submissions into the usual eight categories for judging and awarding. Again, they were:

  1. “Abandonment Aesthetica”
  2. “Flora-Trucka”
  3. “Farm Still Life”
  4. “Elemental Reversion”
  5. “Truck on a Stick”
  6. “Cold Storage”
  7. "Parts is Parts"
  8. "Junk Yard Dogs"

I think breaking out the submissions into individually judged categories leveled the playing field a bit and made it easier for me ( it's all about ME! ) to recognize more really good photo submissions.

Well, without further ado (and less ado than last year...), here are this year's winners by category:

Grand Prize

"I drive by this truck several times a year and have nick-named it The Wood Burning Stove…….Bolt.

"Thank you for devoting so much of your lives into this great hobby and for providing the web site for so many of us to learn and BS with each other."
