Hello,
Has anyone ever seen an AD seat which has a back that swings forward? The one on my new old fire truck does. I'm still trying to determine if it is a Van Pelt truck, or if not, which company made it. http://home.comcast.net/~chriseye/ft.html

I have seen a few converted to do this. Classic Trucks or one of those magazines had a "How to" on it a while back. You may find it in a detailed search here as well I know it has been discussed before.

From what I can see it looks like a 55.2 seat. The hinge point and stop look like a 55.2 seat. Does it look like the seat is factory mounted or home grown?

Some more pics would help.

that's definitely a TF [55-59] seat, including the 'adjuster' handle - looks like it's been taken off the TF slider tracks

I am in the process of removing the seat. Some of the bolts are rusty, so I sprayed them with PB Blaster, and will try again tomorrow. When I have it apart, I'll take more photos. The seat mount on the floor of the cab has been modified in a few places as is evident in the photo below the handle. I assume that the seat was installed to provide access behind the seat where the cab has two large openings which led to ? ? ?

Could these Task Force seats been availablr in 53?

I have added more photos to my fire truck page and will continue to do so as the project continues.
