Mader is a 1966 Chevrolet C/60 powered by a target master 366 cid engine that was built as a dealer towtruck for the local Chevy dealer here in Americus, Ga. After the dealership closed, Mader saw duty as a tree stump puller untill the owner had no further use for her and sold her to someone else to pull peanut wagons with. after they destroyed most of the truck they sent her to the scrapman.I seen mader and remembered it as the truck i grew up wanting to drive, and is the reason i got into towing. I bought Mader on sight for $1.500.00 and towed her home. Mader is now a working truck that stays on the road working her tail off. when I get the chance to pull her off duty for a few days and I work on her and slowly bring her back to the truck I remeber her to be. while teaching my 11 year old son my trade, Mader (named by local kids)also brings me and him together for father and son time. its amazing to me how a rusty old truck can do so much to bring joy to us. oldtimers tell me storys about this truck all the time and i enjoy hearing them. childern jump up and down pulling their hands down for me to honk her horn all the time, I love honking for them so much i added air horns just so they get their moneys worth. every where me and Mader goes she turns heads. Working Mader and working on Mader is my childhood dream come true. i cant wait for the next tow call or the next time i get to work on her. Boy am i glad the crusher didnt get her! she is truley a labor of love for both me and my son.
