I'm not sure where you got the 69.5" from, but I supposed it is published somewhere. So why are you curious? Are your tires rubbing something or what? Are you sure you have a 1 1/2 ton. How many lug bolts do you have?

It is probably better to do them in proper sequence, but I did a bunch of them at random before I learned the proper sequence. I would take the line loose at the wheel cylinder and see if you get anything. With pressure, you should be getting somet

Check the tech tips tab at the top of the page for driveline setup. Stick with the two piece, the info in the tech tip will explain why a single long shaft is a terrible idea.

Oh and on the driving of a 3/4 ton truck, I've only driven mine around the block a couple of times but still enjoyed every moment of it. From the relization that 1st gear (in a 4-speed) is so low that it will move the truck with great ease even if y

You never pull the outer tube from the cast housing. The drive shaft and pinion come out if you remove the three set screws that have the lock nuts.

I had to put the Bel Air in. I had to ask some folks to get off the hood so I could take a pic.... just kidding. For those who weren't there, that was just a small fraction of the cars that showed up. I only took pics of some the vehicles that were

I found a 1930 1.5 ton. I guess I'm the 3rd person to take on the restoration. The wood was done by an other man; he did an outstanding job. My son and I are keeping this truck as original as we can afford. How ever we are putting a 1950 motor, tr

I suppose. It surprised me, as the engine was rebuilt some 20 years ago. I still think it was NASA.

Thanks for all the help and info on this wheel topic! I really want to keep as much on the truck that is original as possible, so I'll probably keep the rims. If not, however, I know where to give 'em a good home. Thanks again!

I just bought my 6th wrecker and I think it is time to post it in the Gallery. It is a 54 Chevy 6400 with an Ashton wrecker bed. I still have a few things to do like paint the engine, frame, and axles. I plan on doing most of the work but I may have

Hmmm...I thought it was a low cab. I have hydraulic brakes, and the cab looks different than other '36's I've seen pics of. Let me attach a link to a shot of the truck. Maybe you guys can tell by the pics if she's a low or high cab. Thanks!! http://

Re: rotors

The short answer is none! I believe rotors are used from camaros or 1970s 4wd trucks. The camaro uses a hat to space it out. The 4wd rotor uses the stock hub. There are kits available complete with every part you would need for short money. Yes,

Joy, welcome to the Stovebolt forum, the extended cab would have to been a "custom" fabrication. I've checked my history books and no mention of extended cabs back in the 60's. There were some companys that modified the stock cabs and made

Actually they are both 550 series. The fire truck is titled a 57 but it was probably built in 56 because it still has the 324 while the 57 came with a 370 engine. I have a wrecker with a 370. The parts truck in front of the firetruck has nice front
