Change the grease in the trans & rear end. Grease all the fittings on the steering & springs. If the grease won't go through remove the fitting & dig out the crud with an ice pick. Spray a penitrant in the hole & try again. Shake, pul

I found the MSDS for the Evercoat Z-grip filler. When it's still wet to looks like the nastiest stuff it has is styrene (15%-20% of the product) and crystalline sillica (0%-1%). One good thing about styrene is that you smell it way before it's a bi

I ran across this site run by body shop owners. They welcome guests and have recently started a separate forum section on restoration projects. They have fun teasing one another about their projects. They use a variety of paint lines and products. Ve

I have the opportunity to buy a complete Napco 4x4 Suburban, but don't know if the hubs and transfer case have enough value to make the purchase worthwhile. Any thoughts?

I am looking for advice on what most people use to prep and paint the floor of their trucks. Doesn't need to be a show winner finish, but want it to be close to original without paying a lot. Do most sandblast the metal, or just rough it up, prime

I purchased a fuel line for my 59 apache. In the classic chevy parts book it did not distinguish between 3/4 ton (my pickup) and a 1/2 ton. The shipping paper says it is for a 1/2 ton. When I match it up to the old line, which is hard to do since

It looks like the 10 hole motor wheel. The same nut holds the inside as the outside. If you need to single it, just use the the nuts that came off. If some studs break or threads strip, just a couple of nuts will hold it to trailer it.

Would really like to take off rear drums to replace shoes on our 63 C20 fleetside. It has very sticky-outy hubs which have x8 bolts at the end and something in the middle that looks as though it might twist. Wheel is 8-lug, rear ends looks weapons-gr

I have some. They are from the early 60's. They have the fuel inlet on the side with a built in fuel filter. They have a center bolt air filter mount. They are reinforced in the air horn area that is prone to warpage.

The socket holder in the repop tail lamps is just a small aluminum extrusion which can either be modified to hold a dual filament socket or make a new one out of scrap tin.

Welcome Green, good to hear you plan to keep the stovebolt six. I threw out my old low pressure 235 and snagged a 261, very similar engine. If your truck is really fully restored, it's cool to keep the original engine, but the '53 and earlier engines

Hey PorkChopMF, better a ratrod than a re-incarnated Chinese truck, just as long as the crusher doesn't get it. Welcome to the site. I love those 42's, cool looking trucks. What does the MF in your handle stand for? Leo
