This sounds like a closed drive housing with a 55.2 differential installed. If the housing does not show any signs of ever haveing spring perches on top, they could have been removed very carefully. The reason I am thinking 55.2 and newer differenti

Wow! I only paid 450 on my grill and it needed repairs aswell. Came out perfect. I paid 175 each for rechroming my bumpers. But that was 4 or 5 years ago.

my 2003 s-10 rear is 48 inches wide, backing plate to backing plate, and the leaf springs are 38.5 inches on center.
not sure about the width needed for your 46 gmc.

Also, I should add this frame is from a 49 or 50 chevy coe and I do keep it covered up with a tarp. The steering column on the frame is cut but i do have a second column with steering box too. it is sitting on the frame in one of the pictures

I ran into this with my 1 Ton. The replacement cable I had for one side would slip through. My bracket is made out of cast iron so there is a limited pinch. Here is what I did:
I made two narrow shims out of 16 gauge steel and wedged them

Im not hard to satify. Leaving the straight axle front, will it be going all over the road, can i keep it where i want it, and do you have to have such a large steering wheel.the front end has been restored, just thinking about some disc brakes

You guys are right... I have to look at it that way. It's just that I have soooo much work to do on my cab before the cold weather/short days sets in that I just felt like I lost too much time on a bench project that I could have done in the winter.<

The early clip on the curved glass cab is not uncommon. At the moment I can't think of any issues if you are swapping the whole setup. The dash is also different so make sure you've thought through those parts before doing anything you can't revers

The bearings are Hyatt OR1502. Timken has a crossover bearing that I can find if I search using the GM part number 111121 and gives a Timken number of R1502EL . I can't find any specs on the bearing though and it doesn't come up if you search that nu
