"Tail light switch for panel or suburban,1947-1955 new in bag 40.00"

Bill,

What is a tail light switch for 48-55 panel/suburban?

Is this for only Panel trucks and the Suburbans with rear doors (like the panel doors), or does this also work with Suburbans with end-gates (and, maybe with the Canopy Express)?

Where is it located on the truck?

Thanks,

fits in the drivers side rear barn door jam and door to activate brake and tail light. for panel/suburban , I don't know if the same switch was used on clam shell doors
If I remember correctly, the same switch was used in the 1937 suburban rear doors

JC's EL-409 is not the part for a 1954/55 Panel-body truck with rear doors (no matter what JC lists).

Actually that switch fits 1937-1951 panel & suburban. Group 2.447 part # 594904 & 594905
1952 and up panel & burbs started using the wire loom in the door jam.
Does this sound correct Tim ?

1952 was year, they went to spring-like conduit.
I can't find the spring-like conduit in MP&AC though.
It is in the 1947-1954 Factory Assembly Manual.
Wire Assy. 5299935
Sec.12, sheet 15.021 & 15.002

..... try Ace Hardware and look at there drawer full of different springs and you may just find one that will work....something like the old screen door springs?
