"Lurch" |
Read more about Lurch. He's got so much happening, he's got TWO sagas!
2007 Memoirs -- Lurch gives us his run down (oh, should I use those words??) on all his doings for the past year. Such fun he has! Great pictures and great story telling.
You can't keep a good truck down -- Or on a trailer, either! Lurch gives a lesson in grace, humility, trailering basics and the foibles of man. |
11 April 2007 Update
From Dean :
Here is the most recent picture I have of Lurch.
The guy sitting next to me is George Childs. He originally sold Lurch's chassis and engine to me.
He has a few old Chevys, including a 1925 Chevy truck named "Leaping Lena" that his Grandfather bought new.
Lurch's Social Calendar for 2007
Here is a list of Lurch's appearances for 2007. He'd LOVE to see you at one or more of these events!

- Sunday, April 29th - The Pacific Coast Dream Machine meet at the Half Moon Bay Airport
- Saturday, May 5th - The All American Truck Show at Kennedy Park in Union City
- Sunday, May 20th - Friendship Day at Canada College parking lot, Redwood City, CA East off 280 at the Farm Hill Boulevard exit. This is a 'bring whatever you got and let's enjoy each other's toys' kind of show. Always interesting!!
- Tuesday, July 3rd - Roseville Downtown Tuesday Nights
- Saturday, September 22nd - The Ironstone Vineyard Concours D' Elegance in Murphys - This is a fantastic show and worth the drive to Murphys! The Rusty and Infamous (Lurch) gets to hobnob the the Rich and Famous (Rolls, Bentleys, Auburns, Cobras, etc.) at this show!
- Sunday, October 14th - Jimmy's 19th Annual Old Car Picnic in Golden Gate Park (Speedway Meadow) in San Francisco - This is the first time that Lurch is visiting this show, but Jimmy saw Lurch at the Pacific Coast Dream Machines in Aprile and became a fan immediately!
He might appear at other venues, but none are in plan as of now.

13 May 2005 Update
For the "rest of the story" on Lurch, you need
to read HIS version of all this stuff in our Saga Section / "Old
and Ugly IS Beautiful ... or ... You Can't Keep a Good Truck Down" ~~

From Dean:
It's time for Lurch to wake up from his winter hibernation
and get out and about! Below is his social schedule for 2005. If you get a chance,
come out and say howdy!
- All
American Truck Show (Kennedy Park in Union City) - all American trucks
welcome (May 7, 2005)
- Friendship
Day (Canada College in Redwood City) - bring whatever you've got and
let's enjoy each others' toys! I'll be leading a tour to the show from Marina
Square in San Leandro, leaving at 7:30am. (May 15, 2005)
- Palo Alto Concours d'Elegance (on Stanford campus) - look for Lurch with the tractors! (June 26, 2005)
- Horses
to Horsepower (at Sequoia High School in Redwood City on October 2,
2005)

10 June 2002 Update
Hi,
I thought it was time for an update from Lurch. He's found
a few friends that he 'tours' with.
Here's a picture that was taken last weekend at a show called
Friendship Day. It's a 'bring-whatever-you've-got-and-let's-enjoy-each-other's-toys'
kind of show.
Lots of fun!
Cheers,
Dean
Dean's got a 1958
Chevy 1/2-ton Panel truck he uses to tow his trailer, which carries junk
(er, parts and projects) home and also takes Lurch to shows. ~~ Editor
20 September 2001 Update
From Dean:
I'd like to replace the current picture of Lurch,
my 1927 Chevy Cattle truck. The pic you have is old and isn't quite accurate
anymore. (Lurch doesn't have the Austin America seats anymore). Here is a more
recent picture taken at the ATHS (American Truck Historical Society) Kirkland
Truck show last year.
This is a GREAT show, if you ever get a chance to
be in Northern California the last weekend in April.
Thanks!
