Matt Droege's 1955 Chevy 6500

      Here is my blue '55 Chevy 6500. It's a good old runner we used last year to haul Christmas trees.

      I originally bought this truck as a parts truck and when I showed up to tow it home, the owner said, "I told you it ran." He had a small gas can to use as a temporary tank.

      They used the truck to move up from California and there it sat.

      I still talk to the previous owner and let him know the truck is alive again and he keeps finding little things for the truck and brings them by the house.

      Thanks for your hard work. The Stovebolt Page is a daily stop for me.

      That 261 continues to work no matter how long it sits. It got another job hauling lime and rock phosphate. I have farm ID for it at 18,000 lbs and I'm hoping to use the hauling funds to have the brakes fixed.

      Clearly I have too many project but I love them all.

     Plus Matt is 6'7" and wants to "fit comfortably in the cab." Matt says "They each have their own personalities. Even the worn out '55 6500 just keeps plugging along. I guess that's why I enjoy collecting them. I like a truck with a little history, and I know most of these trucks historys. It would be hard to call any my favorite" .~~ Editor
