1971 GMC 3/4-Ton Truck

           Here is my third truck for the Gallery. It's a 1970 GMC 4 x 4 3/4-ton. She's got a four speed manual transmission, with a 292 (or possibly a 250) straight 6 [ pix ].

           She was in Magna, Utah when we found her. When I went to look at it her, she had a shell it. Someone had sprayed flames on her. It's was a total redneck truck. The front brakes didn't really stop me when I did a test drive -- a little scary. It needed a new bumper. The previous owner tried to pull a stump out, and the stump won. Luckily, it didn't even touch the body when he did it.

           We've already put in a new starter, wheel seal, and air filter. We put new tires on it. We are now putting on a glass pack and exhaust on it. The interior isn't pretty at all [ pix ] . The cab isn't worth saving. We are just hoping to find a decent '67 small back window Chev / GMC. We haven't ever taken a cab off but I've been told it's pretty hard. We we will find out.            It's a blast to drive. I want to restore it after I finish Veronica, my 1971 GMC.
