           Pictured here is my recently purchased 1960 Chevrolet Apache 1/2-ton Longbed Fleetside pickup. It is very original including paint, engine (235 - 6 cylinder), oil bath air filter, manual brakes, manual steering, 4 speed manual transmission with granny gear, bed (rotted), and even license plates (circa 1960-1963 Pacific Wonderland plates). Here's a front driver's side view.

           I purchased this truck from a guy who owned it for 15 years and used it as a local hauler for yard debris, etc. He purchased it from an engineer who rebuilt the engine and tranny with his son. The engine runs so good you can barely hear it!

           As for the future, I plan to keep it for a long time. I want to make it a safe, reliable vehicle, but keep some of the vintage cool. I might add power steering and brakes so my wife can drive it. Front disc brakes would be nice, too.

           My wife thinks it is the coolest. She says it is better looking than the 1963-1966 models. We dig the "Jet Pod" hood. Not to mention, the color also matches my house. Here's a view from the rear driver's side.

           I love this web site. I had been looking for a 1960-66 Longbed Fleetside and used the Stovebolt.com Gallery to check similar models. I use the forum constantly for troubleshooting. It is an invaluable tool. Keep up the great work.
