20 September 2007 Update
# 1301
From Tony :
Hello to all!
Well, it's been one and a half years and I finally have the exterior complete (almost). I have several photos here, as it progressed.
I started with having the truck running good mechanically. Here is a picture of the "after" motor (the "before" shot is in my first submission below ).Then I tried to do some body work myself. As you can see, I had my hood replaced with one from a 1964. I found two doors in good shape at a local junk yard. I had the rocker panels, cab corners, cab supports and front side panels replaced by an experienced local shop.
Here are a few photos of the rocker panel work: a good close-up showing some serious issues to deal with; a look from the other side.
After riding all winter in a multi-colored truck (I really miss it), I made a deal with a local body shop and got my truck straightened and painted in exchange for a web site design!
Here are a few of the "before" pictures: from the driver's side and the passenger's side.
And besides the one above, here's an "after" from the backside.
I still need to get the rubber for the doors and finish the interior myself This truck has ALWAYS been my daily driver. I installed an Edelbrock carb, new floor shifter, and other miscellaneous parts. I have a new steering wheel, chrome carpet and door trim to install.
I use the truck to promote my web site business and usually get a thumbs when I drive around.
I really appreciate ALL the help and info on this web site. You guys are great. Keep it up!
