Ever notice how your parking lights go out when you pull the headlight switch all the way on? (duh, that's why they're called parking lights, see?) Want 'em to stay on? Here's the Electrocutioner to tell you how:
"What is the easiest way to convert my park lights to running lights? On my truck, the park lights go off as the headlight switch is pulled all the way out to turn the headlights on. Could it be as simple as replacing the sockets and splicing the additional wire into the headlight wire (after determining which wire controls the brights)?"
You are correct... by changing the park light sockets to two filament sockets (the pig tails are available at the local NAPA store), and by installing the two filiment bulbs, you would indeed be in business. The same also applies to the taillamps -- the tail lamp and turnsignal should be together and are usually 4 candlepower and the brakelight is 6 candlepower.
Editor's Note: Randy carries the chrome turn signal lever add on kit. See him on the Links Page if you need one, or visit with him in the Electrical Bay of the Stovebolt Forums if you need to ask him anything.
