Glen's1946 Chevy / "Australian Gentlemans Ute" |
30 January 2006 Update
From Glen:
I have sold all the old Holdens and the old inters and only have the '46s left. Thanks very much for your help. It was imported from Canada and the drive train was fitted by GMH here. The back was modified for and extra cab like the AR 110 .

Glen:
Thanks very much for your help. I have since found out that the 1946 Chevy is called an "Australian Gentlemans Ute." It was impoted and the back was modified. I have since bought three more old utes, international AR 10, a 10- tonne truck with the same cab as the American 1946 1/2-tonne and another that I haven't figured out yet! I'm just a ute kid!
The other two -- the blue
one is a 1972 Holden HQ Ute (utility). She's an old girl that I bought for parts,
4speed 3.3 litre 6 cylinder. The green one is a 1980 Holden WB Ute, 5 speed,
5 litre V8. Very quick little one.
These Utes are the ancestors of the Chevrolet Utes you import from Australia today. The old ones are much loved and are highly sort after. They still fetch a good price second hand. I'm selling the green one now for AUS $9000. I own a few (9).

I'm from Adelaide, South Australia. If I can be of any assistance to you for anything, just ask.
Cheers,
Down in the little land of Australia
Glen
