From Kay :

Hello Stovebolters!

I have owned this 1950 Advance Design Chevrolet pickup truck for about five years. It has a 235, a 3 speed gearbox and a long rear axle. It’s my daily driver. [ Passenger side view ]

My truck arrived in Germany in 1990. The first German owner moved in 1992 to the south of Spain (taking the truck with him). So the truck lived under warm conditions for a while.

I bought the truck from a car dealer with shops in Spain and Germany. So the truck found the way back to Hamburg.

The truck is a daily driver for me and I use it for my private transportation.

I am 44 years old and I work at my cars on my own the whole time. First, I drove old air-cooled VWs and cross country vehicles. My favorites have been a Beetle with the Porsche engine! Sin of one's youth! Now I drive much more slower … not ever! Most German highways have no speed limit. My wife's car will not slow-down -- 255km/h means 158 m/h. I am unreasonable!

I’m also a member of My Hotrod, a small but fine German pickup and panel community.

Since I have owned it, I have replaced some things like door handles, tail lights, rear bumper, radiator and steering box. I refreshed the bed.

The Chevy is not for show and shine -- it’s a truck!

My second car is a 1959 Opel Kapitän L. I have been the owner of this car for about 11 years now.

Stovebolt.com is really a big page with 19,000 members, unimaginable! I love this page! All the best, and see you at Stovebolt

Kay, great info on the truck. I cannot imagine driving someplace where there is no speed limit. But I'm a chicken! ~ Editor
