15 November 2005 Update

From Mark:

Here is some updated info on my 1969 K20. Since my last update, I have come a long way. I got the body all sanded and made the decision that I was not up to the task of painting the truck myself. Off to the body shop the truck went and then many months later, it came home ready for final assembly.

I have refered to the truck as both a C-20 and K-20. The four wheel drivers are K series trucks but GM kept the C badges. Only the Blazer has the K badging, even the two wheel drive Blazers have the K badging. Good old GM being cheap on badging if you ask me.

The truck is running a 1989 454 and I swapped over the donor vehicle's hydraulic clutch and hydro boost brake system.

My lift has now increased and the truck could use some larger tires at this point.

I am using seats from a 1998 Chevy Silverado and I also bought some of the bulk seat fabric and used it to cover the door panels.

I have a tilt column that is ready to be installed once I get some free time.

I had the gas tank on the flatbed custom built to follow the lines of the flatbed's headache rack.

Mark has provided us with a great tech tip on how he made these door panels. Check it out ... and thanks Mark! ~~ Editor

19 March 2002

From Mark:

Enclosed is an updated pic that I thought you might use on your web site. Since my first photo submission, I have added power steering, the flatbed, about an 1.5" of additional front lift and 3.5" additional rear lift. I'm getting ready to swap in a CH465 4-speed to replace the tired 3-speed.

Thanks for adding the new pic and info. Hopefully, I will have a better pic of the truck outside with some scenery rather than this inside barn shot.

June 2000

Here's a photo of my 1969 C-20 4 X 4. It has a 307 power plant with a 3 on the tree tranny, I believe a Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front both with 4:56 gears, new drive shafts and brake lines. It has the NP205 transfer case with a PTO output. It also has the manual throttle control. The lift that Mark is just finishing was purchased from Off Road Design. It uses new 4" springs in the front and a Shackle Flip bracket in the rear. The shocks are Tuff Country SX8000's and I replaced the tired steering stabilizer with a Rancho RS5000. The tires are Super Swamper SSR's, 35 x 12.50 x 16 on black and chrome steel wheels.

In the future I am going to add power steering, a flat bed, new paint and maybe a 383.

Your page looks great - just found it and can't wait to get time to really go through your gallery!
