From Michael:

This is my 1962 Chevy C-10 long wheel base Stepside. This truck was intended to become a parts truck for my 1958 Apache 3100 Short wheelbase Stepside. But after a closer look at it, I decided I wanted to make a "custom hot rod" out of it.

It has very little wrong with the body as you can see. So it was well worth the $150 I paid for it. It has the 235.5 6 cylinder with a 3 speed on the column which seems to run strong despite how long it may have sat around. It still has the original radio filler plate that hasn't been knocked out or cut for a radio. It has the original bench seat which appears to be in excellent condition (especially since the truck was sold cheap). It starts right up and is a decent project / fixer. I intend on keeping it as original as possible except for a disc brake and power steering upgrade which we will do shortly here to come.

I am going to put the body on a 1972 swb disc brake V8 frame with at least a 283 bored .30 with a 4 barrel carb powerplant from a 4 dr '66 Belair / Impala that was given to me for nothing (best price is free).

Here are the before pictures just to show the steal of a deal I got and as I progress, I'll have updates. I don't mind if the fellow bolters send me comments -- I hope they will. I look forward to many long days and nights being head first into the ol' Bolt and at The Stovebolt Page with fellow Bolters.

         Long Live Stovebolts!

Thanks,

Michael Myers
