From John:

Here is my newly acquired 1960 Chevrolet Apache (Stepside) 1/2-ton that I purchased from a friend of mine for $200. It has some body damage due to being put through two hurricanes in Florida. After that, it lived its life in central Texas hauling hay and what not. As you can see, farm life was a little hard on it.

I towed it back to a friend of mine's shop and started work on the engine. The motor is a 283 bored .30 over. It has an MSD ignition and a Mallory ignition, as well as a Crane RV cam, Edelbrock headers, Edelbrock intake and a Holley 750 carb. After putting in some fresh gas and changing the oil, I turned it over and heard a nice clank inside the motor. It turns out that one of the rockers were so lose / tight that the pushrod in the seventh cylinder was bent and broke. Fortunately, nothing happened to the block so I swapped out the heads and should fire it again in the next few days.

Pictures are from the day I picked it up. More to follow. At least one picture that shows the majority of your truck!

Thanks,

John Hebdon
