1946 Chevy Dump

07 April 2004

From: CJ,

John, I stumbled across your website. It is very nice. I thought you might like to add some pics of two Chevys that I own (check out the other). This one is a 1946 dump truck. I'm not sure if its a 1 1/2 ton or 2 ton. It was bought by my father to use on the farm in the late '60s from a country club near Louisville, KY. I don't know where the country club got it, but I think it may have been from a road service department somewhere.

It fell into disrepair in the late '70s and sat outside for many years. I got it running again in '89, and have been restoring its mechanical aspects a bit at a time since then.

The body is original, and I don't plan on doing any cosmetic work on it.

It will be used as an off-highway farm project truck. It has a scissor type dump that works fine. It looks rough, but it runs like a top!

I have more pictures of these if you want to see them. Just let me know.

Thank you,
C.J. Haunz
Louisville, KY
