From Rick
My name is Rick Carlisle. I live in
Sarasota, Florida.
I am street rodding the truck. I bought it
from a gentleman in Ohio and flew a co-worker up to drive it back. It
had a 307 with original suspension and 4 speed in floor when I bought it.
My co-worker drove it straight back and only had a problem in Tennessee when
he lost a fan belt.
Since buying the truck I have done the following:
Installed Heidt's SuperRide
IFS.
Installed new air shocks and
Eaton springs on the rear.
Removed all emblems.
Put in a new Griffin radiator.
Installed a Vintage a/c system.
Put on new headers and custom
exhaust.
Rewired with Painless system.
Had fabricated and installed
custom gas tank under rear bed.
Filled in original gas filler
and moved new filler to back of left rear fender.
Installed roll pan and slotted
tail/brake lights on rear.
Moved battery to custom tray
out of sight.
Installed No Limit Engineering
BMW style hood opening system.
Installed Brothers custom gauge
set
Installed new washer/wiper
system.
Installed custom bench seat
from Tea's Design.
I am about to put the truck in the body shop.
When I do, I plan to do the following:
Remove body from frame and
install Air Ride system front and rear.
Install new gears, brakes and
sway bars.
Install Fast Burn 385 crate
motor with Street and Performance Ram Induction System.
Dip/strip body to bare metal
and fix all rust areas.
Install new Pro's Pick custom
bed and smooth tailgate.
Install tubs for rear tires.
Install re-chromed grill and
new chrome bumper on front.
Probably shave door handles and
install remote entry system.
Install one-piece glass in
doors.
Replace rubber, felt, etc.
Install new stereo system under
seat.
Smooth dash.
Install new insulation, carpet,
and leather inside.
Install new wood bed
w/stainless steel rails in rear.
Install 20" rear and
18" front wheels and matching tires.
Paint truck.
I probably will think of more things but that is
the list at the moment. When I finish this one, I have a 54 Ford that I
will do. A tree went through the cab of it last fall so a little more
work will be required there!
Curator "Nice old Chevy Rick, looks like you have it pretty much planned out!"
