From Ron :

Here are a couple shots my 1925 K 101 GMC. This was the biggest model offered that year (5 ton). In these years, GMC built all the parts including front axles, rear axles, gearing, and transmissions. This truck has seven forward speeds using two sticks.

I picked up the frame, wheels, running gear, engine and radiator in Iowa about 15 years ago and slowly rebuilt everything into what you see today. It was used in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. I hand-built and riveted the cab, riser and seat frames. I built and upholstered the seats. I had to have one headlight frame re-cast. I built all of the bed -- stringers, sills, all the steel and iron hardware. The bed was so beautiful I hated to paint it but wanted the truck to look as original as possible. (The side boards on the bed were typical of the old-style beds where lettering would have been painted.)

It took me about a year to do the work. I've taken the truck on many trips (up to about 100 miles -- that's about all the sunlight) and it runs very well at 18-20 mph.

Everything is original or as original as you would find it back in 1925.

I mixed the color paint to what I know old trucks of this vintage were painted like.

Here's a view from the side and then the front driver's side .

By the way, I sold the '36 Suburban to a guy that wanted it more than I did. I kinda miss it but something else always comes along! I have some other GMC, Chevy trucks that I could send pictures of if you would want to see them (1934 1/2-ton pick-up, 1934 1 1/2-ton military cargo / troop carrier, 1936 Wayne bodied Chevrolet school bus, 1933 Yellow Coach Bus Model 709, 1936 1/2-ton pick-up, 1936 1 1/2-ton open express (big pick-up), 1942 1 1/2 ton panel truck, 1948 1-ton open express, 1950 1 1/2 COE).

Best wishes,

Ron
