BLOOD SWEAT AND BEERS

I have lots of pictures of my two-year long project of my 1951 1/2-ton, start to finish. I now have a whole 1951 made from two 1951's. It has a 1955 235 and I've converted to 12 volt.

Thanks to all the Bolters that helped along the way. Special thanks to the Stovebolt Staff for this site. It provided knowledge, friendship and a place to vent when needed. And the occasional ego buster.

Many thanks,

Considering what Paul's done, we wanted to encourage you to go check his link! Incredible. Just incredible! You need to get the full affect of all this, especially considering he did it himself, with the help of his young sons (ages now 7 and 8). ~~ Editor

From Paul:

Is Stoveboltitis genetic or contagious. My wife hopes that it is curable but I hope he will deal with this affliction in a manly way and stay with old Bolts. This is my son and helper Zach (age 7) helping with some sanding, and all geared up working with the air compressor.

(These pictures are so GREAT ... and from a Stovebolt Mom, I just had to include them all. And please advise your wife -- there is no cure. You and your son are certifiably (Stovebolt) nuts ~~ Editor)

From Paul:

Hi y'all. Thank you for the nice welcome and great advice. I am going to enjoy this site.

I started on my first 1952 1/2-ton in 1979 with my Dad and took it to college. Once I learned all their was to learn and I was smarter than everyone else, I sold it.

Now I have my own boys and I needed another one. That should be an easy task!!! I found one and got started -- my how the mind forgets minor details like frozen bolts and hidden bondo and 50 years of duct tape and wires that go no where. Then reality hits -- did prices ever go up! Now I must think quickly. HONEY! I have a great idea If I buy two more trucks and fix them to sell, I can do my '52 for free.

"How did that go?" you ask. NOT TOO GOOD. However, after much negotiating and a promise to build a bonus room / guest room over the garage for her Mom, I won.

I bought two 1951 trucks. The stand is a helper I had to build because I have to do this all myself. It comes in handy. My boys (age 6 and 7) try to help.

Hope you feel my pain on the progress so far. The trucks are two 1951's and a 1952.
