From Mike :

This 1951 was pulled out of a barn after 22 years. I spotted this truck and a 1958 2 ton Ford in the barn about five years ago. I asked about it off and on. Two days before Christmas, my friend called and said he and his Dad talked and he said "Merry Christmas!" That was a very big gift. [ side view ]

The back drum was stuck to the shoes. The motor was stuck. There was a bird nest in the dash. Found a snake skin in the floor and a lot of trash.

We put the truck on a roll back and brought it home. We let it stay outside to make sure that nothing alive was still in it.

We drove it up the road in early December with a grin a mile wide.

A real good friend's Father bought the truck new. It was used in a lumber yard and around town. Steve (my friend) told me that before he could drive (we both are 58), that he would watch the men load the bed until the front end would come off the ground. They would take a tractor and chain the front down until they could stack lumber over the cab to hold the front down. Then they headed to the lumber yard.

My plans are to make a hauler for my 1904 Reo that I built from a photo.
