On the Forum Home, (and all the individual Forums), notice the switches across top, which activate other goodies in the vehicle, such as the Monthly News Letter; our wonderful Gallery of Stovebolters' Trucks; a treasure chest of useful Tech Tips for your projects; the Lots-o-Links holder where you find maps to hundreds of locations for truck information, and the HooYa Shop, where you can find ...... a wide array of HooYa! - quality Stovebolt gifts for yourself and your friends. Just below these switches we see the rotating switch that activates the catalog of our sponsor American Classic Truck Parts.
Lower down the dash, on the right, you'll find the Forum Information Links. These controls appear in the same location on all our forums, except for the 'Show Topics From ...' box, and the New Topic button, which only appear on individual forum pages. Note that you must be "Logged In" before these profile switches appear.
- The My Profile button will take you directly to your personal Profile Control page, where you may view or modify your user information.
- The Directory is our "white pages" of Users, where you can search out individual user profiles, and view various user statistics. If you're wondering how many 'Bolters are in your area, you can search in the directory (although some members don't list where they live). You can also check in the Stovebolt Locater, though.
- The Search switch here opens a compartment to search for information and topics only in these forums, unlike the "Search" in the topmost row, which includes a Google search of the web, the whole Stovebolt Page, or the Forums. Searching will be covered in greater depth on the next page.
- The FAQ switch takes you to a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the Forum's functions.
- The Forum Home switch always takes you back to the full list of Forums, shown below.
- The Show Topics From window allows you to limit or expand the time period that's displayed in a forum - some forums that get less traffic show only a few posts in the default 20 day display, but you can change that to show up to the whole period covered in the archives, which in some cases may be very many pages of posts.
Just below the Information Links you see the Today's Active Topics switch. This space will always have a series of switches that indicate exactly where you are on any forum or thread. This particular one jumps you to a list of all the topics that have been posted in the previous 24 hours. It's a handy place to keep up with the current action in the Forums, and will also have links to the Forum pages that contain the individual posts.
The Main Forum Page, or Forum Home, is an overall schematic of the vehicle. Here you will find the list of Parts Groups, and all the Individual Components or Forums. Nothing can be posted from this page - it is strictly a listing of map co-ordinates that allow you to find an area of interest.
